Pay Range/details: £13.60 per hour (Monday to Friday 08:00- 16:00)

Omega has an excellent opportunity to work with one of the UKs leading chemical and microbiological testing companies with exciting growth plans.

Working within a team of highly skilled and trained scientists, based in a UKAS accredited laboratory, the right candidate will be responsible for assisting Lab operations with a strong focus on Water Testing Services.

Key Responsibilities – Chemistry Analyst

  • To process water samples and read results
  • Assistance in the day-to-day management of the laboratory
  • Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standard and in a timely manner
  • Receive samples from customers and process in a timely manner
  • Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, that paperwork is kept in an orderly manner and LIMS is updated correctly.
  • Ensuring all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
  • Familiarity with the contents of the Laboratory Quality Manual and compliance at all times with the policies, procedures and associated documents which are referred to in the Manual in order to comply with the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard.
  • Working in a clean and tidy manner with due attention to the careful maintenance of all laboratory fittings and equipment.
  • Must have good laboratory practice and work to the highest standard.
  • Any other tasks reasonably in line with business needs as designated by the Line Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements – Chemistry Analyst

  • Excellent communication skills, and to be confident when dealing with customers.
  • Able to work well in a team, with an open, honest and approachable character.
  • A good eye for detail and understand fully the business processes.
  • Able to adopt a methodical approach to work with accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Able to organise and prioritise workload with flexibility to respond positively to changing demands.
  • High degree of computer literacy including the use of programmes such as Excel and Word.
  • Able to maintain focus on what can sometimes be repetitive work.
  • A degree or equivalent in Chemistry is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience of working within a laboratory environment with competent laboratory bench skills is beneficial but not essential.

Working within a fast-paced production environment, you will play a key role in ensuring injection moulding machines are set up efficiently, operating at optimum performance, and consistently producing high-quality products.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in injection moulding, experience carrying out mould changes, and the ability to optimise machine performance to achieve production and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities – Injection Moulding Setter

Prepare for production changes by ensuring all required tools, materials, and equipment are available for efficient changeovers.Safely remove and install mould tools, ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with company procedures.Set and optimise injection moulding machines to achieve target cycle times and quality requirements.Monitor machine settings and process parameters to maintain safe and repeatable production.Respond quickly to machine and process issues, reducing downtime and minimising quality concerns.Complete production documentation, machine records, and daily performance reports accurately.Conduct routine machine fitness-for-use inspections and maintain appropriate records.Lead by example in promoting high standards of health and safety throughout the manufacturing environment.Support continuous improvement initiatives including TPM, SMED, automation projects, and waste reduction activities.Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment at all times.Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to support operational objectives.

Key Experience & Requirements – Injection Moulding Setter

Proven experience working as an Injection Moulding Setter within a manufacturing environment.Formal qualifications in Injection Moulding Setting and Processing.Experience using cranes, lifting and slinging equipment, and powered pallet trucks (PPT).Strong understanding of injection moulding processes and machine optimisation.Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Flexible and proactive approach to work.IMT qualification is desirable.Experience supporting continuous improvement activities within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

A leading automotive lighting manufacturer supplying luxury and supercar brands is seeking an experienced NPI Process Engineer to join its Launch & SVO team. This role is responsible for delivering robust manufacturing processes for new product introduction projects, ensuring products are launched efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with cross-functional project teams, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement, and supporting projects through to successful production handover and closure.

Key Responsibilities – NPI Process Engineer

Process Development & Continuous Improvement:

Develop and improve manufacturing processes to achieve high levels of quality, cost efficiency, and delivery performance (QCD).Review and optimise manufacturing methods, tooling, and materials to support cost reduction initiatives.Lead continuous improvement activities across manufacturing operations.Support quality investigations and implement robust root cause corrective actions.Lead and facilitate continuous improvement teams focused on manufacturing performance.

Documentation & Manufacturing Engineering:

Create, maintain, and manage key process documentation, including PFMEAs and Control Plans.Develop and support manufacturing processes for new products and new product introductions (NPI).Support the integration of BOMs, routing structures, and SAP system requirements.Assist with RFQ creation and manufacturing cost assessments.Conduct individual component reviews to support tooling and production readiness documentation.

Project & Product Launch Support:

Support project teams in achieving programme phase exit milestones.Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) activities throughout the product development lifecycle.Support DFMEA activities and manufacturing risk assessments.Assist with project development activities and engineering reviews.Lead or support pre-series and prototype builds where required.Provide manufacturing support throughout product launch and continue support until project closure.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:

Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety policies.Adhere to Environmental and 5S standards across all manufacturing and project activities.Promote safe working practices and continuous workplace organisation improvements.

Qualifications & Requirements – NPI Process Engineer

Minimum of 5 years' experience within an assembly manufacturing or manufacturing engineering environment.Proven track record of delivering manufacturing process improvements within assembly operations.Experience supporting new product introduction and product launch activities.Knowledge of PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, and manufacturing process development.Six Sigma experience preferred, with Black Belt qualification advantageous but not essential.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive "can-do" approach.Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams through improvementinitiatives.Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally automotive or related sectors.
